Problems Playing Dvd's

Recommended Posts

i have been trying to play some DVD's on my PC but when i hit play, it gives me this error that says

"Playback failed due to a problem with the video subsystem. Lowering your screen resolution or color depth may fix the problem." my current specs are 1024x768, 85hz refresh, and 32bit color depth.

i changed it to 800x600, 60hz refresh, and 16bit depth and i still get the same error. I have a 15inch Gateway EV500 Monitor that works pretty well believe it or not. and i have a Geforce3 Ti200 128mb videocard.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

do you mean the codecs and stuff......i have a lot of divx codecs and stuff like that installed. I dont think its the software though because i have tried it on about 3 different programs and they all give me similar errors.

BTW, what would be a good DVD codec for windows mediaplayer 9?
