Saca_Saca Posted June 14, 2003 Posted June 14, 2003 Hello, I have a Abit IS7 mobo with a P4 2.4C CPU and could use some input on overclocking. The problem is I can hit 260 FSB at default voltage, but cant seem to get any higher even with more voltage. I can run Prime95 all day at 260 FSB no problem...but any higher and it errors out within the first 2-3 min. I am running 2x256 OCZ PC 3500EL in duel channel mode with the 5/4 divider giving me a final speed of 416MHz. I have tried turning off HT and lowering the ram timings but no luck. Heat is not a problem, I am running A H2O system and temps are fine. One thing I did notice is when running full load the 12v line drops to 11.5 or less, and the 5v to about 4.7 on my Vantec Stealth PSU. Any ideas on how I can get the FSB any higher? DimensioN Posted June 14, 2003 Posted June 14, 2003 well why don't you raise the Vcore.. memory voltages.. has it every wondered with a fsb # 260 you might be at the limit???
Saca_Saca Posted June 14, 2003 Posted June 14, 2003 Done both...no luck.Just seems weird, never had a cpu and mobo top out at default voltage.

Saca_Saca Posted June 14, 2003 Posted June 14, 2003 The cpu is at 3122Mhz....1040 FSB. Maybe thats all the cpu has?
Lantom Posted June 15, 2003 Posted June 15, 2003 1040 is a great FSB, I think you just capped out. I'm running OCZ 3700 EL and I can't do much better than you got. Somehow the FSB just won't go. I've got a 3.0C running at 3.83 and temps and all are great but she just won't more up. Timings or anything else doesn't matter. Saca_Saca Posted June 15, 2003 Posted June 15, 2003 Lanton, what vcore did you have to run to get your cpu to 3.83?
