Big B Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 I haven't used them personally, but from what I've heard, the Q-tec power supplies are rather crummy, and this is ignoring the 24-pin ATX power connector issue. You can get a 600W PSU for $30, but the ones I've checked the specs on have lower amperage than my "inferior" 350W Sparkle (from the same company that makes Fortron PSUs). It's not just DFI boards that are starting to need more power, it's just the way the entire PC industry is going.
boegvad Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Im planning on buying this one (http://northq.com/products/powersupply/nq4775-500.html) monday. It should be extremely high quality and will set me back a little over $130 - hope its worth it. You think its good enough to get my system up and running? Infinity Posted March 19, 2005 Posted March 19, 2005 If those specs are TRUE, then it will run fine.

yrfc123 Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 um...... its going to run for a while? (be a little more specific in what you are asking please) Well I'm using a 20-pin antec power supply (from the sonata), and it's been running fine. I'm just wondering what exactly happens since the 24-pin is "required".
Angry_Games Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 when it wont boot or it starts throwing errors or something else fails (or does unexpected) then you should question the psu first. i can tell you from much experience and a zillion tech support emails and forum posts that your 380w psu is not enough. but what do i know?
