3200+ Oc

Hi, I finally got my 3200 cpu in today and called off work to play with it...lol

My FSB frequency is 133 and I set the multiplier at x17 w/ vcore at 1.63. This equals to be 2266 MHz, right? According to the bios, the idle temps are: system 29, cpu 35. i think that's right...yep it is. Does that sound nice and cool?

What should I crank this sucker up to? or is what i have it at good?

I have never built a comp or OC'd before...lol. Crap i'm a newb.

I just got my Tt 11 in today too :P w00t! That thing is loud.

The monitor i have right now sucks. it's like from 10 years ago when i got my first comp, so i cant play any cool games yet.

I'm just so excited because i didn't think i could build a computer.

The hard drive i got in there was from a friend and i cant get passed the login screen. dang password. I have the original password and was able to get passed the login once and thought i got rid of the existing user names and pw's. The comp had to reset and now i am stuck at the login screen on win 2000. i suppose that is better than getting the BSoD. sorry for rambling...I'm excited! thx

Well, I would do it the other way. I would keep the stuff stock.

200MHz FSB and whatever the multiplier is. Then just raise the FSB a little bit. You are wasting memory speed at 133MHz FSB considering the 3200+ is 200MHz FSB (with DDR 400MHz).

Crank get it up to like 2400MHz then run prime 95 for as long as it'll go. Then put it up a little more. That will burn it in.

As far as logging in. I would format and put the OS on again.

ok, i put the FSB frequency at 200 MHz and the monitor wont turn on now, i had that problem earler.

the RAM is 515 mb of Giel ultra, 400 mhz i believe

i'm gunna play with the monitor a bit and see if it will work, otherwise i gotta use the one on this comp (my mom told me not to)

That RAM might hold you back if you want to seriously OC it. Probably would have been wise to get PC3500 or PC3700. You did lower the multiplier back down to 11 when you raised the FSB back to 200 right??

i think i am getting the hang of this.

200 x 11.5 = 2290. cpu temp 32

200 x 12 = 2388. cpu temp 35

200 x 13 = monitor wont turn on and i had to reset cmos.

vcore is at 1.63

what do you think?

shouldn't it be able to OC more?
