kenrippy Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Good news guys, crucial admitted to me that there is a huge problemwith that certain brand of memory and when they test my memory faulty or not ill get a brand new batch :D Down side, they only offer advanced RMA with memory bought from them good news. it was the same for me since i bought mine from newegg. at least they 2nd day air shipped it, maybe they'll do the same for you even if you're across the pond. Guest badboy Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Must of been I bad batch but not for me. Now I am running 265 1:1 3,3,3,8 1T at 2.8v now since I been doing F@H with my setup. I tested it with memtest for over 5 hours and not 1 error.
andy2002 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Wait.... advanced RMA? OK So my 2 gigs died this past week... 2000+ of errors at 2.7v and 2.8v... just one sector (reported dozens of times) at 2.6v, but still I get random restarts every few hours. Are you saying I can simply claim this failure and they'll send a new pair? Also on a side question, my bios has started giving me checksum errors and will freeze in menu...was this caused by my memory? grimpy Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 not sure what the rma process is like in the us but i just got off the phone with them in the uk. give me a rma number straight away and told me to send them off and they`ll send a new set out. usually takes 4-5 days to get your replacements in the uk. andy2002 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Yeah I'll just give them a call. I had problems with this memory for months, but 2.6v below 250mhz was never a problem. Guess I should have done this sooner... I sure hope I don't have to reformat or flash my bios.

Yep , great service.... Atleast crucial admitted to being a bad batch and not motherboard related
repoman Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Anyone know how the recent sticks from newegg are doing? About to get my RMA sent out and I'm going to use them rather then selling, my GSkill HZ were DOA.
Slammin Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 By all accounts, including mine, the new sets from newegg are running cooler and with less vdimm. Just read back a few pages.
repoman Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 Cool, thought I read that somewhere. I was just wondering if they were dying at all already, but it seems not. Hopefully Crucial really fixed the issue, probably lost a lot of money giving out free sets
NeilSouth Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 But im getting mine new from crucial not newegg so ill have to see
ЪngêR! Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 THey may lose money now but in the long run they will hopfully come out on tops. They acknolaged there is a problem (finally) and give out NEW sticks/moddle... how many other companys would do this. If my 2BG sticks die I'm RMA'ing to Crucial directly. Personally I will definatly buy Crucial memory in the future. The after care is first class and that does it for me . This is also the reason i bought DFI. All you have to look at is the forum here, with AG and RGone +others for care. They all help and want the best out of there boards for there customers, NOT for rep.
