Crucial Ballistix 2x1GB PC4000 kit gone bad (merged)

Recommended Posts

Well folks mine is still running, I ran up Thunda's settings but put it up to 2.8 voltage and prime stable for almos 9 hrs with my Opty 165 at 312 x 9 with a 180 divider, which means the Ballistix are running at 280.

Ok everyone running it stable, what are your EXACT timing settings... such as tras, trp e.t.c

Active cooling = Yes/No

I am running at 260mhz 1:1 3,3,3,8 1T at 2.7v with no active cooling and has pasted memtest without any errors but if I put the memory voltage at 2.85v I would get errors in memtest within 2 minutes of running the test. It seems that putting too much memory voltage is what is causing the errors. It seems that lowering the memory voltage solved my problem.

This set also does 300 fsb 3-4-4-8 stable with 2.8v but I have to change a few settings. I only gain 1 second with SuperPI at 300 so I just leave it at 270 fsb 3-3-3-7 2.6v instead.

Good news guys, crucial admitted to me that there is a huge problem

faulty or not ill get a brand new batch :D :D :D

Down side, they only offer advanced RMA with memory bought from them :(
