3.16.2005 Alpha BIOS (Rgone and Angry_Game's FAVORITE BIOS!!!)

from Oskar:

If there is anyone who would like the use DIMM1/3 (yellow slots!) and mail you about this , you can send him this bios for try ,

http://oskarwu.myweb.hinet.net/dfi/betabios/NF4LD316.zip

This one bios re-write the whole memory timing related code , especially the oc part when dimm1/3 (yellow slots!) is used ...

With Dimm1/3 (yellow slots!) used , the OC capability should be closed to DIMM2/4 used(However I am not sure about this) ...

So I removed the warning message because it "seems" to help the DIMM1/3 stability and OC ability ...

You can try to use it to do some beta testing in the beta testing forum in dfi-street and find what will happened ...

If the user can not make it stable with this bios but ok with non-performance beta version ...

Tell him to change the DRAM Setting back to AUTO including ==> Trc , Trrd , Twr , Twtr , Trwt , and Tref ...

This bios is based on NVMM 4.85 and NV RAID 4.81 ... If he already have problem with the new NVMM and NV RAID , stop using it ...

MAJOR BUG IN 704 (Vcore Special 123%+ May Cause CPU Failure/Death In Certain Situations):

http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16500

Bootable Floppy (Self Xtracting EXE) DOS Image w./ 310 Final:

http://indabasement.com/DFINF4/bios/DOS-With-310_PUBLIC.exe

Insert floppy -> Double click .exe -> follow the prompt (you can just hit ok, defaults should be fine) -> when booting off floppy at the A: prompt to flash to 310 -> type flash and hit enter.

Bootable CDROM (ISO) DOS Image w./ All Bios Revisions to Date (11/14/05):

http://indabasement.com/super/dfi-super.rar

MAJOR BUG IN 704 (Vcore Special 123%+ May Cause CPU Failure/Death In Certain Situations):

http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16500

ex: Download & Install WinRAR -> Unpack .rar and you will be left with a .ISO -> To Burn With Nero: Launch Nero -> Burn -> Image (nero6) or File -> Burn Image (nero5) -> Double Click the .ISO -> Insert CDR/RW -> Burn. Set First Boot to CDROM -> Follow On Screen Instructions to Flash.

How-To Flash Bios:

grab a bootable pure dos floppy disk (you can download dos image with 310 public release (NOT the "P" performance/beta version, but final version) on it, to be written to floppy above OR download bootable CDROM image w./ all bioses OR you can make one through your operating system: right click a: in my computer -> format -> check make ms dos startup disk) and place awdflash and bios file on this floppy. these can be found (dos flash util and bios file) above.

enter bios -> load optimised defaults -> y->save -> boot off disk -> follow flash instructions in the .txt that comes with awdflash.rar OR type 'flash' at A:, if using bootable dos image w./ 310 on it OR follow on screen instructions if using bootable CDROM image. If using the 'awdflash.rar method', remember to replace BIOSFILE.BIN with bios filename (awd859e BIOSFILE.BIN /py /sn /cd /cp /cc /LD /R /f) -> after it is done, it will reset on its own -> after reset, enter bios -> load optimised defaults->y->save->after POST finishes -> shutdown ->switch off PSU -> unplug -> wait for yellow lights to turn off -> press power a few times-> set clear CMOS jumper -> wait for 10 minutes->set jumper back -> plug in ->switch on -> power up -> enter bios -> load optimised defaults -> now configure your bios.
