Bonesdad Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 Same situation here. Both of my switches were in pieces in the bottom of the bag. Mine came from Newegg and was in a decent size box packed with peanuts. I'm just trying to remember when I unpacked it if the audio module was sitting on top of the board where the switches are. I'm wondering if that could be what beat the hell out of the board. I took photos of my board in the box: Link
blink182prj Posted February 26, 2005 Posted February 26, 2005 Already posted a reply over at Hardforum, but I figured it couldn't hurt to add it here too. I had the exact same problem. Was about to pay $7.70 to ship it back to ZZF today when I found out lots of people were having this problem. I'm going to go ahead and wait for DFI to acknowledge the problem. Bonesdad Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 Bones was that your email I forwarded today? YES, it was! Thanks for replying so quickly. What are your thoughts about this? That module was sitting right on top of the broken switch. They gotta find a different way to pack that board!
ozziegn Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 I've been reading about this packing problem on a couple different forums and I must say that I'm kind of worried if mine will also be damaged. I ordered it from ZipZoomFly...
cantankerous Posted February 27, 2005 Posted February 27, 2005 I have my board coming in a couple days. I too will see if my board has this. I hope not cause I plan on running it out of a case for a few days to see if its going to exhibit the sudden death and no signal to screen issue. Bonesdad Posted February 28, 2005 Posted February 28, 2005 Look at where the audio module is packed, right over the board. If it's damaged, that's where it is likely to be.
