Ziggy54354 Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 Hi, im building a computer for the first time and ive got my mobo and my case, the x-pider/old alienware case/dragon/other name case. When i got my motherboard i got it retail so i could get the accessories. My question is how do i replace the thing that covers the usb, lan, mouse, and keyboard ports (I/O shield i think its called) on my case with the one that comes with my motherboard. Doesnt seem to be any screws attaching it or any clips that let me pop it off.. any of you guys know how to get it off? I cant use the a7n8x deluxe with this because it has 4 usb and it wont work with the one on the case so i need to replace with the one i got with it. calibruc Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 my a7n8x deluxe came with a new peice to fit in there that matches the ports on the mobo, you just pop the old one out with a screwdriver or a hammer if you're frustrated
bishop245 Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 hammer sounds like a good idea but i usually just use a screwdriver myself
General912 Posted June 5, 2003 Posted June 5, 2003 take a screwdriver to the edges on the outside on the shield.
