NF4 Ultra-d: Lost SATA Controller

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I had this up and running at stock speeds, all was going good.

I up'd the HTT to 220 to start overclocking, (I changed the mem divider down)

I rebooted and the system no longer recogised the Nvidia Raid controller. Ther is Nvidia Raid bios now.

I have tested the drives in another pc, the they are fine.

I have reset back to defaults, and they re-enabled RAID on the SATA ports.

But I still dont have a Nvidia Raid controller.

Any idea, or is this toast?

Thanks

P.S. I am running the beta 02/05 bios. But it doesnt make any difference, with either bios I dont have a raid controller.

I have cleared the CMOS - Still no SATA controller

I have loaded defaults - Still no SATA controller

I have tried with only 1 stick of mem - Still no SATA controller

I have resetted DMI - Still no SATA controller

I have loaded optimised-settings - Still no SATA controller

I dont know what else to do. I think it must be faulty.

I get no NVIDIA Raid bios at all.

If I set the SATA settings in the bios for non-raid, and reboot I cant still cant see any drives. I have tried on all 4 SATA ports.

Any ideas?

You tried reflashing the bios? Also I never heard of an 02/05 bios be it beta or otherwise?

The memory controller on this weak@ss cpu that I dorked during beta banging has a habit of when it crashes hard and reboots there is not array detected but yes it does redetect and you can hear the drives in raid go clink then the other one clink until it finds them both. However I have crashed it so hard it says error insert system disk which means it not only did not see the NvRaid controller not really but had no O/s to boot from and I had to clear the cmos with the A/c power cord removed and it came back up though.

If a good cmos clear and possibly a bios reflash does not help > I would say RMA the board to your purchasing vendor if the drives are good on another computer.

OH one last thought and that is I have heard that just like on the NF3 the NF4 180 memory divider does not work. So might be it but you have cleared the cmos and that should have been reset.
