MikeyLikesItSI Posted February 12, 2005 Posted February 12, 2005 Well, i turned up the FSB on my 875P-T and lowered the divider on the memory to see if my new memory was holding me up or my processor. Unfortunatly, it took out my windows install. So i re-installed windows, but HT isn't active. It is turned on in the bios, and ACPI is enabled. No matter what i tried to change in the device manager (under the "computer" tab), it wouldn't let me pick ACPI Mulitprocessor PC. I downloaded intel's Hyper Threading checker, and it said the chipset was ok, the CPU is fine, but the bios didn't pass. Ok, no big deal, reflashed the bios to an older one that worked fine...... but to no avail..... Screen Shot I've read that you can force a different HAL on XP install. So i popped the CD in, hit F5.... and the only options avaliable are -Standard PC with C-Step i486 -Other How can i force the HAL if its not present? And why would Intel's program show that the bios is a problem? Its definitly enabled, and it shows it when it posts...
