Concorde Rules Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Hi im new, got a DFi tho Anyway, ive hit a wall at 242FSB, anything higher will fail memtest in the last 962Mbish (from memory). It does 240FSB with 2.5-3-3-8 @ 3V it wont do 245 even with 1.75V CPU and 3.1V, with CPU at x8. I have a feeling after reading around that is just a chip of my BH-5 is giving up at more than 242FSB. Specs: 3500+ Winchester - week 49 - 1.65V @ 2.64GHz TwinMOS BH-5 PC3200 @ 2.5-3-3-8 @ 3.0V. My question is that would it be erroring all the time if it was the mem controller? The reason im asking this is that im just about to get some TCCD and wondering if it is worth it. Cheers Concorde PS: Very nice board DFI, even with the 25/01/05 BIOS no probs at all. Lidocaine Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Since you have BH-5........I send some V's up it's rear!.........try 3.4-3.6V's to see if your problem is resolved.
Concorde Rules Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 nah I know I should but I dont want to lol. Ill sell it to someone slightly more brave, im only 15 you know dont want to break anything or im stuffed. It doesnt change the situation even at 2.5-4-4-8 and 3.1V. Im asking weather, if it was the mem controller which has given up at 240FSB would it error all the way through mem test? not just on the 950+ Mb blocks? uwackme Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 BH5 dont like loose timings. Try 5,2,2,2,2.0 and see how high an FSB you can reach.
THunDA Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Yap .. back when I ran bh5 they didnt gain diddly squat from loosening the timings..hehe They want tight 2-2-2 timings and mucho voltage.. or they are worthless.. well not worthless but you know what I mean..lol If your not gona feed them more juice or are afraid to then tccd will be a better option for you.. Lidocaine Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 Yeh, cool im ordering some TCCD tomorrow, see how that goes  I think you're missing the point. :shake: .....Your TwinMOS BH-5 is on the compatability chart of the best overclocking board out at present. IT NEEDS VOLTS......With enough VDIMM you could "put a hurtin!" on what TCCD is gonna do for you  ...........this is even at a moderate HTT clock with tight timings............ugggggh. I think this is a case of someones dad giving the son the keys to the dragster and telling him to drive it to school........LOL>.. :nod:j/k
Angry_Games Posted February 11, 2005 Posted February 11, 2005 your results may vary of course...bh-5 loves voltage...and it loves tight timings with those volts....but you should be able to do 2-2-2-5 @ 3.1v up to 240-ish

The controllers in my week 51 3500 Winnie are terrible but you will never know until you run the Vdimm higher on the BH5 to get them out of the way.
