WeStSiDePLaYa Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 exactly, so wtf is the point?
Angry_Games Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 we make all 4 motherboards on the same pcb and bios design. They all use the same basic chipset (one supports SLI, the other does not). this helps us keep costs down, and helps maximize support for all 4 boards as they all utilize the same bios, board design, and components. one chipset (Ultra-D/Ultra-DR) simply does not support SLI while the other (SLI-D/SLI-DR) does. WeStSiDePLaYa Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 so pretty much one of the 16x slots is useless?
Angry_Games Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 no it is not useless either slot will run 16x by itself without another PCI-E 16x slot populated with 2 video cards, one will run 16x and the other will run 2x only difference is the SLI board will run either 16x or 16x (single card population) or 8x 8x (SLI population)
