Rma'd LANparty won't boot

Recommended Posts

I sent in my LANParty NFII Ultra (not B) for the hardware RAID fix. I've had it back for some time without issues, but I had the RAID controller disabled in the BIOS.

I just enabled it, and attached a drive, and the PC will not boot.

I pulled the IDE cable from my boot drive off the Nforce IDE controller and attached it to the RAID controller, disconnected the other drive. The PC will not boot. The drive shows up in the RAID BIOS just fine and dandy.

I have "SCSI or RAID boot" set to RAID in the BIOS, and have SCSI in the boot sequence as the third boot device, with "boot other devices" enabled.

The PC just goes past the two BIOSs and hangs right after "boot from CD" shows. There is no disc in my CD.

When I take the cable off the RAID controller and put it on the Nforce controller, the PC boots rapidly and normally.

So, what's up? When I got the board back from RMA, the Ethernet port I'd been using no longer worked. I switched to the other one.

Might this be a setting issue?

The RAID controller has the HPT driver loaded, ver 2.344.0507, showing in Control Panel. The PC will not boot with a drive attached.
