NF4 SLI-DR 9x multi not working as should

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! Got a nice SLI-DR for a friend and was quite impressed, especially with the features included for o/c. After the initial bios flashing and burn-in at stock speeds (I never push hardware out of the box) I started fiddling with it. Specs:

NF4 SLI-DR A01, bios 201

CPU: 3000+, 3200+ (winchester)

RAM: 2x512MB A-Data DDR600 (TCCD), 2x256MB HyperX 3200 (BH5)

PSU: Tagan 480W, Chieftec 360W

VGA: some ol' Matrox mystique PCI

cooling is stock besides two 12cm fans blowing over the mobo, mostly over ram and mosfets.

OS: WinXP SP2

Problem is that with any hardware config (any combination of the above hardware), any settings regarding ram timings, voltages the 9x multi seems broken. Explaining, it errors/hangs/crashes memtest at settings that 8x and 10x work flawlessly. I've been over this many times, swapping hardware and can't blame something else but the mobo itself. Sure it does work at stock speeds but won't do much over a reasonable o/c. Windows won't even boot most of the time.

If needed additional info over settings etc. it will be provided, thank you for your time.

please check the rules and the Important Info threads stuck to the top of this section, paying close attention to the second post in teh 'critical' thread (about system specs in your sig).

this helps us tremendously to help you solve your issue if we can see what is in your system every time you post.

Be as thorough as possible please. Voltages, timings, settings, bios version. The more information you give us about the problem, and the more details about your hardware in your sig = more help we can give you.
