Thanatos Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 I bought me some logitech x-530's, and these things sound quite nice. However; upon trying to use my microphone in my game, I realized that it did not work. Just trying something at random, I unplugged all my speakers from the ports, and plugged my headphones+mic in the ports, and the microphone worked... i unplugged them all, and plugged the surround sound back up, and i got the same thing as before, no microphone. Is there something to this 5.1 setup that I dont know about? Eh, Im clueless as to what the problem could be, THIS TIME. Synchro Posted February 6, 2005 Posted February 6, 2005 If you're using the Coax or Optical (i.e. digital) connectors to hook your speakers up to your motherboard, then you won't hear the microphone or the line-in. I have found that the only way to hear analog input is to use an analog output method (the regular miniplugs). Anything else results in no sound. But again, this only applies if your using either Coax or Optical as your connection. [EDIT] And I am sorry if you are plugging your speakers in using the 3 analog audio ports but can't hear the microphone. I can't help ya there.[/EDIT]
