bored7one4 Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 im planning on putting my rig around the athlon xp moblie 2600+ because i heard it has good OCing. i was wondering what is the best DFI board to go along with this board? Dose anyone know where i can find the 2600+ with the "I" stepping? Im going to the computer fair in Pomona, Ca this weekend but if someone can help me find it online that would be great. If you have this CPU also. please post your specs so i can see what works with this cpu chip so i can build my rig around that. thanks,
Mr Stom Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 Bored7one4 Either the Lanparty NFII Ultra B or the NFII Ultra infinity, both boards love to fly with the 2600 xp-m. Good luck on the stepping hunt, but to be honest, a good balanced rig will have a greater effect on your o/c than the stepping of your chip....in my opinion anyway My rig is currently running at 2593MHz very happily if this helps......best of luck. tobias Posted February 3, 2005 Posted February 3, 2005 defintely go with the DFI board. excellent oc'n. ive had alot of fun getting my rig to where its at. great learning experience, and if done right, great rewards. fyi, i went with the ultra infinity cuz i really didnt need the extra features of the lan party, and ofcourse, the lower price.
