ReMoose Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 I posted awhile ago and i know someone else did that the amount of time the machine spends at the windows loading screen has gotten significantly longer. Well. Mine is currently fixed. Im not quite sure how but the only thing I can come up with is I switched the location of my RAM sticks around. I had them to start in 1&3 and they are now in 2&3. My boot times went from just under a minute to just under 30 seconds. Also check the timings somehow mine got stuck on 2.5-3-3-8 so i switched the 8 to 11. One, the other, or both things I think can help to resolve this issue. Any input is welcome.
Poisonsnak Posted February 2, 2005 Posted February 2, 2005 When I first got this board (dec 03) I heard a lot about stability problems using slots 1 and 3 and everyone seemed to have better results in general with 2&3 but a BIOS update fixed that. Switching the 8 to 11 can definitely help, 11 isn't necessarily the magic number though I have benchmarked and for me 10 is faster. That's a pretty incredible trim off the boot time though, mine is sure not 30 seconds, but I guess I only reboot about once every 3 weeks hehe.
