Hi!

I just got this and according to their info it supports our mobo. It has many features that I am just to afraid to try like auto tuning.... any brave souls around willing to try it?

Regards

I already tried it. the included benchmarks say it shows a great improvement over a stock setting when you use auto tune but I didn't see it anywhere else. maybe because I started at not a stock setting going in. when you first use auto tune it will lock up or reboot your computer a few times as it tests various settings, some which are beyond what your equipment can handle. it as a few monitoring funtions and manual settings too. you can also save profiles of different tuning or overclocking settings.

I gave it a try.

It boosted my FSB without reducing my CPU multiplier or changing my RAM CAS settings. The utility benchmarked the increase compared to my previous settings.

But sadly the PC locked up after a few seconds in the first game I loaded.

I hope you have btter luck.

Roger

I don't want to be the bad news guy here but the Lanparty NF3 250GB is not supported by nTune. If you read the support page properly it only marks "Y" in nVidia Raid and nVidia Firewall.... Not nTune.

I had a beta version of this and to all intent and purpose it will OC your boards but watch out for the high AGP frequencies. It clocked mine to around 103Mhz and i came close to loosing a half decent board.

Thay may have sorted out a few of the beta bugs but i wouldn't recommend using it when there are so many options in the bios... Besides its more fun working it out for yourself than having a bit of software doing it for you ;)

great, another monitoring utility that doesnt support my board. if this board is so oc friendly, why wont nvidia make it recognizable in thier oc tool? what kind of crap is that? damn mbm would have, if not for the end of its updates.

DFI never recommends using software to overclock. True overclocking is best handled at the hardware level, using only the bios, nothing else, and ESPECIALLY NOT WITHIN WINDOWS.

Windows is the most awful piece of software ever invented (and no, I don't use linux or anything but windows, im just smart enough to realize what a pile of crap Windows really is). To try and use it to overclock is not a good idea. Its a piece of software trying to control the hardware in a way that was never intended. Never a good idea.

the best overclocking is never to use software to do it for you. The best is to take the time to learn how to overclock properly. No piece of software can ever achieve the level of overclocking that manually setting the BIOS (and knowing or at least having a good idea of what you are actually changing) can. Period.

Hi guys this is my 1st post here

I ran ntune and it put my memory up to 216mhz and dropped my timings from 2-2-2-10 to 2-2-2-9

overclocking through bios i can do 220mhz with 2-2-2-10

if i try higher i get a boot up with that SATA RAID setup screen

it was good just to see how low the timings could be set

Do a search of the forum... there's loads on mem timings.

But to help you out get hold of A64 Tweaker, set your mem to auto and then run it. It will show you the default mem timings then you can play around with them.

As stated before... The DFI nF3 250GB does not support nTune so getting it to OC your system could be detramental.

The best OC'ing tool is your Bios.

Also read Angry_Games post i bit further up.
