Circuitbreaker8 Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 First off, here is my system.... OCZ Powerstream 520w AMD Athlon 64 3400 Clawhammer CG DFI Lanparty UT NF3 250Gb ( PWM heatsink + vantec cooling on chipset ) 2x512mb OCZ El Platinum 3200 rev2 ( 200mhz @ 2-2-2-5 ) Gigabyte X800XT 256Mb VIVO w/ 4.12 The DFI is using the 10/15 bios w/ memtest I just cant seem to push this board past 250 HTT! I keep my CPU @ 2.4 ( ish ) ghz just b/c thats the most stable clock speed. I run volts @ 1.55 + 110% for the CPU. The memory is @ 2.5-3-3-10 CPC on 2.8v. Chipset volts are at 1.7v. Whats the deal? Guest ZigZag Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 Could be your LDT rate or even just one mem timing you have set too aggressively. It could even be needing more vdimm then 2.8. A64 tweaker program can help u set ALL mem timings appropriate to YOUR ram. Or you could pm another person here with the EXACT same RAM you have and ask them their GENIE bios settings. wickedld9 Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 Technically your TCCD memory is rated at 3-3-3-10@250Mhz. Whoa chief, you need to knock your Vcore down unless you have some very good cooling. You are putting 1.705v through that thing!! Do you really need that much to run 2.4 stable? Are you running CPC enabled? You may need to turn it off to be stable over 250. Also if you're using SATA drives you need to be on ports 3 or 4.
Guest shaolin95 Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 From what Ive read, Clawhammer dont have such a great memory controller and also you are using 2 sticks and thats always more problematic for A64 and high FSB. At least I know the PS isnt the problem as that is a great PS. I guess you already did but no hurt asking, did you lower the multiplier to isolate a possble CPU problem? Also, did you try 2T or Oskar settings? Also look for Thunda in this forum. In any case high FSB with 2 sticks are no so common to the best of my knowledge. Cyberparasite Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 those sticks may not be good for more than 250-260 range at those timings and volts.
Logger Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 I have been lurking and spunging lots of info on this Cool Forum for awhile, Its time to give back something usefull I HOPE. Hey Circuitbreaker8 it looks like we got Identical Twins, I had the same problem with my OCZ Platinum Rev.2 ram, rated at 2,2,2,5. I had to burn my ram in. Ride the ram hard and don't put it away Wet. Get some Viagram from your ComputerDoc if necessary. I memtested mine every night, at tight timings, for 12 hours, 14 nights in a row, and my ram overclocked more each time and was stable too... The URL below will give you great instuctions on how to Burn Your Ram IN. Uwackme is the MAN:D A belated thank-you Mr. Wack http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...am&pagenumber=2 From 2.4 to 2.65 was a nice, a bit more to come:D Fsb=265 Ldt Up&Dn=A Ldt/Fsb=3 Cpu/Fsb=10 Cpu Vid=1.55 Cpu VId Special=A Chipset Volt=1.8 Agp Volt=1.5 Dram Volt=1.9 Dram Freq= 200 1/1 CPC=1t Tcl=2.5 Trcd=4 Tras=10 Trp=3 Trc=10 Trfc=14 Trrd=4 Twr=3 Twtr=2 Trwt=4 Tref=4708 Twcl=3 DQS Up=255 Dram Drive=1 MAL=8 RPT=5.5 Idle Cycle=16 Dynamic Co=Enable R/W Q.B.=04x Bypass Max=04 32Byte Gran=Disable Hope that Helps But them 64's have got a mind of there Own. Circuitbreaker8 Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 Thanks logger I've had my ram since October and its been OCed to 240Mhz since then ( 2.5-3-3-8 1T ) I'll try burning it in though, although I think it porbably is now. I'll try those settings I think the newer DFI boards OC higher than the original ones released in october...my freind got his to do 285 1:1 with two 512mb sticks.
