Memory Problem With DFI Lanparty UT NF3 250GB

Recommended Posts

Any ram stick placed in DIMM Slot 2 or 3 provides me with instability and many errors in Memtest86. I tested both sticks of my DDR500 ram in DIMM Slot 1 individually and they passed 4 times 0 errors. The ram is fine but the motherboard is giving me the problems. This motherboard should not be giving me these errors. Is there some setting that I have to change in order to make DIMM Slot 2 or 3 work like DIMM Slot 1 does? I also tried that DRAM configuration thing in the Genie section. I really need help in getting my RAM to function properly. 512mb alone in Slot 1 works flawlessly @ 267x9 and the extra stick gives me errors due to the slot 2 and 3 fiasco. Please help me if any of you know what to do to fix this issue. Thanks in advance.

Yes, I have tried a single stick in 2 and in 3 and they fail the memtest tests miserably. I have no idea why they are failing in those 2 slots or why those slots are giving me such problems. I will look into that site that you posted though. If anybody else has any suggestions, please let me know them. Thanks.

Do you think that my crappy power supply does not have enough power to juice up Slot 2 and 3 properly, causing them to not work properly when RAM is in them? This is my second board after having to RMA the first DFI of same mobo to newegg due to it being defected and not booting. I really dont want to have to RMA it again :(. I was just assuming that maybe it could be the power supply. Please let me know, I really do not to have to RMA it.

please check the rules and the Important Info threads stuck to the top of this section, paying close attention to the second post in teh 'critical' thread (about system specs in your sig).

this helps us tremendously to help you solve your issue if we can see what is in your system every time you post.

Be as thorough as possible please. Voltages, timings, settings, bios version. The more information you give us about the problem, and the more details about your hardware in your sig = more help we can give you.
