It means one IDE channel is replaced by Sata leaving you with 2 PATA EIDE's (Secondary IDE) and 4 EIDE's for hard drives )no optical drives!) on the raid controller. That board was designed 'over' two years ago when Sata was a pipe dream and yet they managed a place to try one without going overboard in design. It was trick in its' day. RGone...
