Pitbull Posted May 31, 2003 Posted May 31, 2003 Hello again, sorry for all the boring questions but I'm going to drop a big load of cash on my new system so I want it to be perfect. My question to all you with water cooling is what Danger Den setup would you pick. I want to buy everything from the DangerDen site. I don't have a price limit but please keep it somewhat reasonable (for instance I don't want three rads). I have a Chieftec case and will be getting a P4 3.0c ghz cpu. Any suggestions will be appreciated.
battery Posted May 31, 2003 Posted May 31, 2003 ok for best cooling without going overboard... res pump rad cpu or... res pump rad cpu rad vid card chipset
ChiGGz Posted May 31, 2003 Posted May 31, 2003 ok for best cooling without going overboard... res pump rad cpu or... res pump rad cpu rad vid card chipset Does chipset include the southbridge also? I notice mine tends to get pretty hot...upto +50 Celcius/+120 F at times
TypicalSloan Posted May 31, 2003 Posted May 31, 2003 no just the northbridge, the south bridge doesnt really need any type of active cooling. As for the radiator the best would probably be the good old heater core or the black ice extreme dual 120mm. If your concerned about space though the black ice extreme single 120mm is the best bet. Mercury Posted May 31, 2003 Posted May 31, 2003 bezerk, your second line-up has one major flaw, the fact that you loop to the radiator twice, which i can guess means that you will be spliting off the radiator intake from the pump AND cpu, and also splitting the radiator exaust for the cpu and chipset/gpu. the major problem with this is that the heated water wont necessarily go into the chipset/gpu route from the radiator exaust, which eventually leads to the res and pump. this means that it is very likely for the same water to get pumped around and around the radiator/cpu. while technically, the radiator is what cools the water, the long route and the sitting in the reservior also dramatically help with the water cooldown process. this means you will get much higher temperatures. instead, i suggest either getting 2 radiators, or just going rad>cpu>gpu>nb... which is fine, since the gpu and nb dont really need the coldest water anyways
