Katch Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 Here's the same drives as before on 32k Strip and 8k clusters. Is this a good result from these drives? Or should I be looking to optimise further? Again sorry for the slow loading images.
red930 Posted October 8, 2005 Posted October 8, 2005 @Katch Those benchmarks look about right for the nF3 board.

Trevor Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Hmm, maybe try different stripe and cluster sizes?
tortie Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 Hmm, maybe try different stripe and cluster sizes? What stripe and cluster sizes do you suggest?
Trevor Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 The stripe width should be four times the cluster size for best overall performance. You never want the cluster size and stripe width to be the same.
tortie Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 So that would be stipe 64K and and cluster 16k?
Trevor Posted October 13, 2005 Posted October 13, 2005 That or 16x4 or 32x8. I think a good way to test them is use a different drive with windows and test the raid array from there that way you don't have reinstall windows every time you want to try a different stripe and cluster size.
