wheres does xp store certain commands

Recommended Posts

i had all the partitions scheduled to perform a simple scan disk upon reboot.

well before the reboot i was using partition magic to resize a partition-it seemed to get stuck at 98% and that was it. i think i found a molex conector to be loose and letting it read and write sonetimes, i think thats what dorked up partition magic and besides me pullung the plug after about an hour.

so!

tried a simple repair to cp, but it still wants to chech the disks. i left it alone, even goung out to eat dinner. It stayed at done, never rebooted, just done, no advance to next disk, nothing??

i can pull the disk off, slave it and kill the sceduled tasks, but where do i need to look fir where thaty might be>>>??

thanks in advance

Make sure you have windows set to show hidden and system files then look for the boot.ini file in your system root c: etc

should be a command in there.

Just incedentally, I had some small dramas with PTMagic recently and from my experience it hates resizing or repartitioning drives if they have too little free space. If your drive is at more than 50% capacity i suggest you remove/backup stuff before trying this kind of thing.
