Gandauf12 Posted November 27, 2004 Posted November 27, 2004 Well I just built A DFI Lanparty AMD64 3200 + CG rev system with a ATI 9800 Pro 256MB card . Was having same problems as you back to desktop randomly in all 3D games. After troubleshooting with my 2 systems parts I fixed it. I uninstalled the NVIDIA Network Manager for Firewall. Took it off and all games run great for as long as you can play. On my system in sig with the Nvidia 6800GT I could play games but could not finish 3dmark anything until I uninstalled the Nvidia Network manager for Firewall. Maybe this might help you. Good luck. tortie Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Hi. How did you uninstall it? Thanks UPDATE: I re-installed the new drivers that NVidia released (66.93) and I have not encountered any crashing problems since.
e268 Posted November 28, 2004 Posted November 28, 2004 Control panel->add/remove program-> remove nvidia driver, all of them. Then re-install the drivers but uncheck nvidia network manager. You will be asked if you want to install nvidia firewall, just say no. By the way, some people here use DriverClean (free dl) after uninstall to make sure all traces of nvidia drivers are gone before re-install.
