Your Dream Car?

Recommended Posts

I can see me in this. I'd love almost anything built in the USA during the 50s and 60s. Hmm a '63 Nova would also be sweet.

Sorta funny story--

I used to live in New Mexico.... where low-riders are a pretty big thing. In the town where my wife worked the 'loop' was from Sonic to Sonic. Sonic is a chain of drive up and eat in your car fast-food restaurants. There was one on each end of town.

Eventually the time came for one of the Sonics to be upgraded. They built a new bigger/better Sonic while the old one remained open next door..... so the loop wouldn't be interrupted, I assume.

The problem came when the new Sonic actually opened. It appears someone didn't get the street-to-parking lot grades quite right and all the low-riders were bottoming out as they turned into the parking lot. It wouldn't suprise me if a couple of them got stuck.

Anyway.... it's amazing. The city/Sonic tore out the concrete and had the street-to-parking lot problem fixed within a couple of days. I've never seen any kind of street problem resolved that quickly.... and especially a problem that doesn't even exist for any 'normal' car.

Lancia Stratos, been my fave since I was a 12yr old and my uncle in Germany gave me a brochure when they first came out. There's a company in England that makes basically an exact replica (chassis, suspension, interior, etc.) that you can install your own motor into.

It originally came with a Ferrari Dino 2.4 V6 and when they rally-raced it they ended up turbocharging it. This was in the mid-to-late '70s and it won the World Championship Rally 3 years in a row.

My ultimate would be a replica with carbon-fiber bodywork and the newest Ferrari V8(say, from the new F430) wedged in there.

Gimme a break, man- I just got it booting from RAID properly last night!

I'm going to pick up another stick of memory on the way home tonight and that is ALL I'm spending for a while...

I'm mainly a FPS guy that happened to get talked into getting a DFI LanParty mobo by a very hyperactive salesman(salesteen?) at Fry's. Coming to this forum was a neccessity because I was havin' some probs- all solved with the help of the kind peoples y'all got here...

I wasn't even going to go the RAID route, but since I had to reformat anyway- what the heck.

I'll join the ranks of the OC someday soon, but until then you can be comforted by the fact that my video card is OC (from the factory, so that won't impress anyone though!).

And to keep cars in the picture- If I was actually buying a new car with real money today- I'd get a Mazda 3s with some anthracite OZ Racing wheels and Yokohama tires. I like the grille from the sedan and the body from the 5-door, so I'd do that minor swap...

sorry !bungle. was just teasing. Just a Little jealous of your rig.

Prolly better you didn't OC too high either.

Isn't there an issue with RAID arrays on 1 & 2 over 240FSB? Thought I read they ran better on Chan 3 & 4.

(Or I could be having another of those flashbacks or maybe oldtimers disease is setting in).

Good luck with the rig and welcome aboard :)

Ok, its not a car, but for a stock truck, it will not only pass, but also go over most stock vehicles on the road. I love my 2004 F250 super duty 6.0 turbo diesel. No 4x4 here baby, i wanted a fast truck, not a fast truck lugging around 800lbs of extra machanical 4x4 crap. If i drive sane, i can go a month on one tank of fuel. 24 miles round trip to work, and i go over Chesapeake Bay bridge every day. I get to see some pretty pictures from that bridge. full_8717_p167169.jpg

Dont feel to sorry for wife in that escort, theres a GTO in her near future. Children, and hot cars just dont mix, so were waiting on daughter to get a little older. That escort has been a great car though, gas, oil, and tires is all it ever costs us. We got it new in 97.

Go here to see full size, and other miscellanous pics of my clan ;)
