Paging Mr. RGone...concerning 2 gigs of mem.

Recommended Posts

Word on the street:) has it that you are one of the few that has 2 gigs of memory on the DFI LP NF3. It was recommended by Cantankerous that I get the full story on how that's workin' out for you on the mobo. The reason why I'm askin' is that I plan on building a machine for recording and some other stuff and I need LOTS of ram to load sample sets etc. I do not plan on overclocking, tweaking or anything. In fact I'm hoping that the mobo will work out of the box with no problems. I was also hoping that you would be able to have a look at my list of stuff and maybe offer some comments/suggestions?

:D ...man I ain't gunna read that whole list of stuff. Hehehehe. Way to rich fer me pore MS red-nake pocket book. Hehehehe.

Truth: I do have 2 1 gig sticks in A64 rig. The 8KM800MLVF serving as my server setup right now. It is Buffalo Tech PC3200 Cas3.0 and is overclocked to 440DDR on that mobo right now. Never had it on the GLOROKENHO UT 250gb. Guess I could try it in a day or so. Right now I am burning some BH-5 in on the UT board and do not want to stop yet.

All the word on the street has it that maybe now OcZ is offering some Cas2.5 1gig sticks but due to the price I "know" they would be >> I have not even looked. You might check and see if such is truly available. One gig at Cas 2.5 would be very awesome on the UT if it would work.

I will finish burn in over the next 12-15 hours and try to find something I know will hold up in the server thang as I need not be a fool and crash and then try to test the 1gb sticks in the UT. If you are overly pushed for time> I apologize but I am not swapping this minute.

Sincerely, RGone...

hey,

'preciate the quick reply. So as of now how much would I be able to load the board with safely. And if possible could you point me to a particular brand/model? As I said I ain't going to be doing any intense overclocking or anything so I don't know if this has any effect. One last thing. Since I'm a bit of a n00b I was hoping that this board will work write out of the box with the stock BIOS, is that a possibilty?

PS. I consolidated the list above. I was hoping that you would be able to part with some of your infinite DFI wisdom as to the parts I have specced out so far.
