G'day

I have a SuperMicro server case, with the 3.5 floppy bat at the top, and I've just installed my new LanParty Pro 875B in the box.

Problem I now have is, I can't find a floppy cable long enougth to reach!

Any ideas? preferbly a UK site, but if I have to, I'll order one from the US.

Thanx

The only place I could find it:

they ship to Canada so probably they will ship to the UK also. It may not work though it has the old-school 5-1/4" connectors on it as well. It appears to be rounded for short stretches... hehe it looks a little ghetto though you may just want to ditch the floppy drive and use bootable cds

Be careful what you wish for…

The official maximum length of a Floppy cable is 24 inches. The length is dictated by the timing of the signals.

I have used a hand made cable that was 27 inches long. Actually it started at 31 inches but I was having trouble getting reliable reads and writes on a floppy drive that worked fine with a 10 inch cable.

27 inches would have allowed for a nice neat installation. I ended up cutting the cable an inch at a time until I could get the floppy to work properly.

Thanx guy's ;)

Especially ExRoadie, with that valuable information!

24 inch... where can I get one? max length I found was 19 inch.

P.S. - can't do without floppy :( it's a must have, great for moving small text files!
