NJ Jackals Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 I can't push my OC any further without first addressing the heat issue with my rig. Temps are crrently high 40s idle and mid 50s under load. I have a total of 5 case fans (2 front-bottom intake, one side intake, 2 rear exhaust),PSU exhaust fan (obviously), and thr HSF in my sig. Everything else is stock. What I need is some suggestions/how-tos on cooling for other parts of my rig (nb, sb, memory, etc). As always, pictures are a big help. Can anyone offer some guidance? -NJJ
THunDA Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 Well what are you ambient temps ? that always makes a difference.. I use a microcool chipset cooler on my nb.. and a old abit nb active cooler for my sb.. Also getting wires under control and keeping them out of your airflow always helps alot.. You should check out the"Official CASE pic thread! 56k BEWARE!!" thread in the off topic forum here at DFI Street.. there you can check out how some of us cool our rigs down.. deception`` Posted October 19, 2004 Posted October 19, 2004 If I were you my suggestion would to instead concentrate on that cpu. I think you're temps are quite high, especially for that relatively low voltage. My suggestion would be to pick up the XP-90 to keep that beast cool (don't forget a good fan! I say Tornado but it might be too loud for you). In terms of the mobo itself, I have learned through my many DFI's that mobo cooling means very little itself. If anything, stay away from cooling the NB and simply heatsink all my hot mosfets as I think this is what is most important. For you, however, I think you could stand to do some work inside the case itself to improve airflow, which can be done through a number of means (rounded cables, hiding wires, etc.) Good luck! deception``
