jalapeno Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Well, encountered 2 more little buggers... Nr.1) When using 10x250 the system seems to be quite fine. The CPU itself can handle more (2.6-2.7 depending on VCore) and the RAM is capable too (OCZ Pl Rev2 - can do 275 @ 2,5-3-3-x 1T) So if I use 10x250 1:1 it looks fine - if I use 10x255 the system becomes unstable (eventhough the Voltages, the LDT and everything else is set to its proper settings) Nr.2) For testing the RAM I had to use the 8x Multi, since the 9x Multi is a mess - with 8x everything is smooth and I can jack the OCZs all the way up there. If I use 9x (e.g. 240) even memtest already tells me to go home Anyone else experiencing the problems? PS: CG 3.000+ (NC), 2x512 OCZ Pl Rev 2, DFI ut 250, 09/14 Oscar BIOS, 550W LC Power PSU
scyphe Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 1) Your chipset has reached it's current peak. Probably borderline @ 250 and cross the line @ 255. 2) That one is weird. Can't repro here though since I only use FSB lower than 240 at the moment (S-ATA-bug).

Ooops - that would reaaaaally suck big time - put it on 1,7V - maybe I should try 1,8 oder 1,9V
ShRoOmAlIsTiC Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 my 9 multi is fubared too. I was running at 10x250 memtest stable but if I drop the muti to a 9 memtest gets 100k+ errors

chris.y2k.r1 Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 I don't know how anyone can say XX is the best MULTI. It all depends on your RAM and CPU. My multi is never the problem, the XP-2600 M will handle whatever you throw at it.

jalapeno Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 I got no idea where this comes from. It' so odd  Can't use that multi - whatsoever. Memtest always tells me to simply pack my things, go home and take a rest  Semms like ShRoOmAlIsTiC is havin' the same trouble - don't know which BIOS he's using though. Herad of that strange behavior in a different forum too. I am not sure, if I'll take the risk of the 10/15 BIOS - since the last one 10/05 killed my HDDs (wasn't fix anymore) EDIT: Don't know why they moved this thread - it's supposed to be one for further BIOS improvements - the 9x Multi has nuthin' to do with OC
