rodan Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 This threads a Year old. Any thoughts that windows XP can't cope with 754?
cmay119 Posted October 1, 2005 Posted October 1, 2005 It might possibly be a software issue, as most of us are seeing more accurate temps in the bios in relation to what smartguardian reports. It personally doesn't bother me all that much though, I only use the temp monitor as a basis for comparison and to control my fan speed once in the OS. CypHill Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 I too have a Newcastle 3200+ with a DFI 250gb Lanparty.. my idle temps are over 40*C and I'm watercooled! This is so annoying... is it the combination of cpu and bios?
Maarek_Stele Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Unlike my old 3200+ hammer CO (as reported going back some pages), with a 3700+ hammer cg temps seem normal. With stock cooler and dodgy silicone paste it would idle in the middle/high 30's and go near 50ºC in full load, which is close to what the other cpu did with stock bios (the only right for it).
