help us narrow down temp problems on s754 cpu's

This threads a Year old. Any thoughts that windows XP can't cope with

754?

It might possibly be a software issue, as most of us are seeing more accurate temps in the bios in relation to what smartguardian reports. It personally doesn't bother me all that much though, I only use the temp monitor as a basis for comparison and to control my fan speed once in the OS.

I too have a Newcastle 3200+ with a DFI 250gb Lanparty.. my idle temps are over 40*C and I'm watercooled! This is so annoying... is it the combination of cpu and bios?

Unlike my old 3200+ hammer CO (as reported going back some pages), with a 3700+ hammer cg temps seem normal. With stock cooler and dodgy silicone paste it would idle in the middle/high 30's and go near 50ºC in full load, which is close to what the other cpu did with stock bios (the only right for it).

Just got my system stable with the settings attached in the two files.

With my rig O/C as in sig I can idle 31-33 full load 42-44.I had higher temps when using the shipping bios but after using different bios temps are lower.

Water cooled Athlon 64 3000+ running a 230mhz FSB and auto CPU VID

 

Fluid is 27.0°C (from Thermaltake in-line water temperature meter)

 

Case temp. is ~22°C (read using Hardcano 12)

 

Those temps. are at full load (running UDAgent)
