Problem

ok i'm using Road Runner which is being routed to 2 different comps by a Linksys 4 port and when playing counter-strike it gets very laggy my ping gets up in the 600s AND I HAVE CABLE INTERNET! I think i'm losing packets but i have no idea why. anyone help me?

you can type net_graph 3 in the cs console to see if thats the case, signs of choke and loss are bad. the in windows command prompt type 'tracert your latency as it get routed to the server, you can also search for the program ping plotter that'll show you the lantency in realtime. its useful to see if the problem is on your end, the server's or somewhere inbetween.

yeah no doubt. The Counter strike goes way up if someone is on your network. I get it too. I only have twopeople but if some one it downloading from the internet then it gets really bad. No way around it man. Unless you get a faster business connection.
