Guest twilight Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 I have a unusual problem that i have seen a couple of other guys have too.....I can only have 1 of my corsair bh-5 stick on my mobo if i want high bus speeds, (9*255 with one stick, 9*225 with two sticks). It doesent matter whitch one of my two sticks i use it performs 9*255, and it doesent matter what vdimm, different slots, dual ddr on or off, etc. with two sticks, they perform max 225*9. This is a BIG problem and i havent seen any solutions to it yet. Now when im about to pick up a DFI NF3 mobo i want to be sure i dont get the same problem on that mobo too. RGone Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004  changing the motherboard would not necessarily change your symptoms. I see that few hung around with BH-5 on these boards as the 'later/newer' styles of memory run better in most cases it seems. I have some BH-5 Kingston on my HOFINITY that I did not 'even' bother to try on my UT250gb until I bought another power supply with an adjustable +3.3V rail so that I can put the 'same' voltage or as close as possible on the memory in the UT as I had to run on the memory on the HOFINITY to get it to run 263x10. Whether or not those two 2x256 sticks of BH-5 will play well on the UT has yet to be seen, but they played good on the NF2 board. No guarantees with two sticks of BH-5 that don't play well on one board > suddenly being friends just because of a board change. Sincerely, RGone...
Guest eva2000 Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 you never mentioned what timings, vdimm and bios settings and AMD64 cpu you're using ?
Guest twilight Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 It doesent matter what timings, bios settings etc. i use the problem isnt related to that i belive. Cpu going to be 3000+ 512 cache. I know there is no guarantee but i think my current board OR cpu has something to do with the problem. I have tried the mem sticks in my brothers computer (P4 3 Ghz, IC7 mobo) and they worked great in dual ddr @ 250*15, that fsb is impossible in my system with both sticks at the same time. RGone, whats that HOFINITY thing you are mentioning??
Samurai Jack Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 If I read right this is on your infinity board that your having this problem with right. I have not seen any problems like this on the NF3 250 UT. I am running two sticks of BH6 at 268 on this board with no probs.
