Walrusbonzo Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 Ok, this might sound REALLY picky, LOL, but it's a bug nontheless. As you may be aware SATA ports 1 & 2 use the external PHY while 3 & 4 use the internal one, and upon POST, if you have all 4 SATA ports enabled, it tells you this. However, if you disable SATA ports 1 & 2, it then tells you that 3 & 4 use the external PHY, which is obviously wrong. Ok, that's my input to the bug list
mad mikee Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 I noticed this during my disk switchover, also wouldn't load windows until I re-enabled them even though not in use

RGone Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004  ...so to speak has been looked into and may well still be having some attention. The 4.66 NVraid Rom is in the bios now in hopes it would have some effect to not need to enable all drives in Sata but so far no relief. Just leave all Sata on and the thing works fine to do the raid 0 on ports 3 and 4 which are useable over 240FSB. This may have no real live cure ever and be simply a fault due to the chipset with no cure. Turn Sata on everywhere and happy putering. Sincerely, RGone... oeqvist Posted December 10, 2004 Posted December 10, 2004 So the 3/4 it´s those close to the CPU right? I don´t know because I use those and it´s identified as 3/4 but since I disabled 1/2 it´s perhaps 1/2 instead if this is the case? Would explain some of the issues I have. A bit confusing. red930 Posted June 24, 2005 Posted June 24, 2005 In my opinion as long as you can specify which port to boot from in the BIOS, it really doesn't matter which # is being assigned to the particular port you are using.
