Guest RoJo Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 Hi RoJo, what brings you to dfi-street, the search for more MHz? Yeap, but this cpu doesn't overclock to well on air with the volts that I'm able to give it (2.5Ghz), so water cooling is on the books for me next. hmmmm.. I think we need like a " Official Welcome Me Thread".. That sounds like a good idea! Welcome and enjoy.Dont forget to do AG s poll of were are you from. Done! Welcome aboard Cheers... Dont forget to vote for Col. Howard in the Who Hates Duke More thread! Will do...

Well....that and trying out some overclocking, and tweaking of my new setup as well.
Guest Byron Posted October 17, 2004 Posted October 17, 2004 Rojo, how did you get your 3700 to 2.5? I cant get stable past 2.47. Using: NF3 Lanparty UT amd 64 3700+ I havent played with anything except bumping my FSB to 208x12.
Guest RoJo Posted October 18, 2004 Posted October 18, 2004 Well I can do 2.54ghz, but I dropped it back to a fsb of 210 and 2.52 for now, until I can put together a water cooling setup and rise the cpu voltage. Which is at 1.55 at the moment. I found my ceiling on the chip by knocking my memory down to 166 and raising the fsb, using clockgen and prime95, which gave me my cpu's max overclock with 1.55 volts. I'm getting temps in the mid to high 50's with that voltage, even with a ThermalRight SLK-948U, and a tornado 92mm fan at 3800 rpm. I'm sure that when I get a water cooling setup, which will drop my temps and enable me to up my voltage. I'll then beable to up my cpu to say 2.6 and above. I also have two different types of ram sticks which I have been testing my rig with. 2 512mg sticks of Corsair TCCD ram I believe, which is set at 2 2 2 5 timimg, and also 2 512mg sticks of Corsair 3700 at 3 4 4 8. I was able to push my fsb to 255 with the 3700 sticks with CPC disabled at 2.52ghz btw. But I need to run more tests with the TCCD. I hope this helps...
