TheWizzard Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Hi, Keep the following in mind. The higher the multiplier u use the more vcore is needed. So i think that simply the vcore is not enough. Try to give some more vddr and vdd voltage to the corresponding chips also and let us know if it is fixed or not. Vcore is cpu voltage, set to 2,0 to check if that was the problem or not. If windows boots correctly try to lower it until you reached the stable work situation. Vddr is memory voltage, not sure if a-data can handle it, but try 3,30 (first read the technical specification of it. If you're lucky a-data could be BH-5. Some sticks have those nice Winbond BH-5 cips). Vdd is northbridge voltage, set it to 1,9.
Grease_Monkey Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 thanks for the quik reply. the problem is, even after i used optimised detting which is default, i still couldnt get into windows. weird hah..?
TheWizzard Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 hmmz, you have to give me some more info (maybe edit your sig and put all the technical data about your rig into it). What bios are you using. Try the hellfire 6/19 3eg rev.3 for instance. That is a good bios with good overclock potential. Please gimme more info. What you can also try is to remove the cmos battery for an hour or so and let de bios clear accoring (so put it in cmos clear mode with the jumper). Emil Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 I had a similar problem.... while in overclock..... desktop fails and reboots...... then winxp just refuses to load.....and I refused to reformat and reinstall. After almost three straight nights of doing all the tricks in the book, short of dancing the "boot" dance with jockey shorts only.... I gave up ...... reformatted ..... reinstalled.... and BINGO !!! no further problems. It's good you decided to reformat early as you would have ended up in EXTREME frustration !!! Good luck and happy tweaking !!! TheWizzard Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 and what about upping the fsb to higher levels, instead of using fsb200. Or is your ram incapable of doing higher fsb's. What voltage do you feed the ram? Try upping it to the max and set a higher fsb.
Grease_Monkey Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 this rig is basically a new setup. so my el cheapo rams are new too. i m gonna burn in first. after one month i will try to up the fsb abit more. but for now, the max fsb i can get stable at 2.3/3/3/3/11 is 200fsb. vcore is 1.950v, vdd is 1.9v and vdimm is 3.3v as u reccomended. i reckon 2.7ghz for mobile 2500 is not too bad. if my ram cant do more than 220fsb after burn in, i will sell them and buy another good brand ram. which brand do u recommend? best performance and best value. thanks. juanflaiter Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I think your problem has to do with Hard Drives access modes. In the bios you have to put enter in your hard drive, and you can choose between LBA CHS or Auto, my computer wont startup windows if I don´t but Auto. Maybe you can try that out, if you have problems when clearing your Bios. Greetings!
