AndyA Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 LAN Problem i have been having lotsa lan problems i just reinstalled my ethernet drivers to the ones that came on the cd and that worked but it randomly losses connection then gets it back. its done this through several diff hdd's operating systems ect. its not the cable side they came over i have a strong signal the laptop next to me keeps connection i tried using the ethernet cord from the laptop that didnt work. i think i might have a bad ethernet port or something i have tried a few differnt drivers. this is vital to me i play counter-strike in CAL and tonight i have a match if i restart it seems to come back online sometimes... hm -Snoop

RGone Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 a need for case by case when your symptoms are the same I have heard of in 4 forums. i think i might have a bad ethernet port or something i have tried a few differnt drivers Drivers seldom cause drop outs either. It has been type of HAL or heat or MAC address in more than 97% of the cases witnessed so far. Sincerely, RGone...

Where did you say you read that thread? And how comes a thread of three pages, started in August didn't have no info in it when you read it in October? Cool down and open your eyes before you snub people who are trying to help.

Well.. If you wana go somewhere else.. thats up to you.. But the solution IS in that thread.. I wasnt being rude.. But instead of me typing the whole thing over generally a link to the fix is alot easier no.. ? There are other possibilities that can cause lan drop.. But that fixed it 100% for me and many others...

THunDA Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 Well have you tried any of the fixes..? In the other thread Logan listed the 3 possible causes for lan drop.. and in the link I posted,it goes in depth in how to change the HAL.. You might loose some 3dmarks by changing that.. But imo its worth it to have a stable system where my lan and sound arent dropping.. You said when you searched for lan drops it brought up like a million threads.. well there is a reason it has amounted to so many threads about it.. follow Logan's suggestions and im sure you will fix your problems.. AndyA Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 "Cool down and open your eyes before you snub people who are trying to help" im from alaska im cool 24/7 yeah after you guys posted the link i tryed that and it hasnt failed yet. but i have only played for a few hours since. i think everyone needs to be a little more laid back this was a misunderstanding on both our parts we were talking about two different posts and the one i replied too which was the one i though you were talking about didnt have any info in it and it was a post someone linked me too (it now has info in it and i solved my problem with it) but this was all a misunderstanding and you got all anal on me... :P :D
THunDA Posted October 13, 2004 Posted October 13, 2004 haha.. Hey can you send some of that cool alaska air into my cpu.. And no hard feelings.. But you have to understand there are soooo many lan drop threads cuz many peeps just post about it over and over again.. So it gets somewhat irritating to see more while the answers and fixes are in here already... Anyways , enough of that .. and happy to see you sorted your problem..
