mad mikee Posted October 10, 2004 Posted October 10, 2004 As I sit here in memtest @ 250-255 True FSB and contempate that BandWidth (single channel) is just about the same / better than what i could get on the UI (though I could only be stable @ 243-245) using duelling channels. (we won't even talk about the fact of tccd going to 270-280 though w/ reduced timings:rolleyes: )
RGone Posted October 10, 2004 Posted October 10, 2004 ... because it was required of me. When I got there I found the benches I used to 'struggle' to get on my HOFINITY and LanPottyBHO, were so much easier to get on the 754 rig. More like a stroll in the park than the exercise in 78 flavors of memory and 92 tweaks from hale to get me DFI rocket sisters to perform at a level below the A64 GLOROKENHO. So now we know 'why' I moved but you also know why I am happy here. Sincerely, RGone... Shettmaster1

The old Hofinity, she makes me remember those times when sky was more blue and grass was more green And I was feeling really sorry I gave away another one combo of Hofinity/2500+/CH-5 to a guy who would basically run it quite close to stock settings and know nothing of the knowledge of dfi-street and other forums that has been put in there to get the rocket sister finally take off the runway of the benching airway. Angry_Games Posted October 10, 2004 Posted October 10, 2004 the 939's dual channel isn't much better than 754 single channel...but the fpu and true power of the A64, whether 754 or 939, is why we moved on. I still prefer the Intel stuff for total memory bandwidth and snap...but i am getting to love my 754 something fierce....250FSB 1:1 24/7 for two weeks and still not a single problem...when it hits 2 or 3 months then i'll know we be on EZ Street (not sesame street you freaks heh)
scyphe Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 The only reason I went with the s754 is the DFI LP UT. When I couldn't find a place with them in stock (actually a huge backorder @ the only place I found it at the time) I decided to go with s939 NF3. But a few days later, just before I ordered it, I made a last raid on the internet after viable online vendors, and lo and behold, I found a place that had them in stock, so I ordered it and got it the day after. politenessman Posted October 16, 2004 Posted October 16, 2004 went to 754 last nov/dec because there was nowhere left to go on socket a. nf7sv2, 3200+ @240x11. 1 year later, socket a is still at same spot. got 3200+ ch c0 last year and still using it. been thru gig nf150 board, max3, 8kda3+ now ut. have a spare ut i was going to off but might try sempron 754 for sh*ts and giggles. very truly yours, politenessman
