Any R/C flyers here??

Recommended Posts

Looks like this will be my next hole to throw money in....

We have an R/C field down the road, been many times...

Been researching/looking at R/c planes for years...

Ready to make the move!!

Just bought the Great Planes Real Flight flight simulator...very nice...

I'm sure it has already saved my much $$$ in crashed planes....

Can't decide on an RTF or an ARF (not enough time or modeling skill for a full kit!)

Just curious if there are any other flyers about and if there are any words of wisdom

Cheers

Exeter

Go for an ARF, purely on the grounds of having some input into the creation of your craft. Also you'll better know how to fix it up again if you stack it.

Me??? stack it? never!

Well....OK..... I am using the Great Planes simulator......

Easy to take off and fly...... it is the landing part that is a bugger!!

As BuzzlightYear says....

This isn't Flying....

ITs Falling....With Style!

I don't have anything but a park flyer (but I have LOTS of R/C cars/trucks).

I say go ARF. You'll get to know the plane better, understand it a little more, etc. Plus it just feels better to do something yourself, especially if you don't have time to put together a full kit.

Other words of wisdom: find someone who is more experienced to guide you through things at first. If you have experience with other R/C stuff, its not quite as important, but still helps!

Good luck :)

I never flew a R/C plane before but watched many videos. Go ARF of course you don't need to get into problems where something will go wrong and you will have no idea what to do.

Like OSU I am, well I was into R/C cars/trucks, I still have NTC3 sitting under the desk.

the local club has free instruction and the field is less than 5 minutes from here!......

Thanks for the inputs!

I'll post a pic or two when I get it going!

I dont have one but they seem cool .. On my way home from work there is a small private airport and they are always flying them around.. Sometimes I pull over and watch them.. They do all sorts of cool tricks..
