Borisw37 Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 What kind of tubing did you use? Where did u buy it?
Saca_Saca Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 I used 1/2 ID Arrow Brand tubing that I picked up at a local dealer. It cost 48 cents/foot. Not bad tubing...very flexable.
mxrider623 Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 Oh man you painted the inside of your case black! get a pic of it with the door off cause I am buying this and I want to paint the inside black too. And ya you need a bigger window I think FrozenCPU has windows for the Chieftec cases that are the exact right size. did you sand the inside before you painted it or just primer then paint? it looks really good what kind of paint did you use? Saca_Saca Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 I was looking at that rig over at DD...very nice. The only thing I do not like about that case is the window. The window in the Antec case I have hides the rad and the two pumps that sit above it.Makes for a cleaner look. I am just going to replace the plexi...I do not like the fan hole. As for the paint job, I just washed the inside out with some paint thinner then sprayed it with flat black laquer paint. The flat black looks much better than glossy paint. mxrider623 Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 Is the flat paint smooth though or does it have kind of a rough surface like the outside of the case? Did you just use spraypaint? Cause I am gonna go to Walmart and get the model paint that is in a spray can cause it does the best job since it doesn't run as easy as spray paint. And ya with a smaller window it will hide everything that doesn't look good but im gonna hide all the wires so the only one that you even see coming out of the power supply with be the ATX one. And why did you put your hard drive on the bottom of the case? Im sure you took out the bottom 3.5 bay but you can still put it in the other one. And where do the wires for the pump come out of your case at?
Saca_Saca Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 The spray paint will work fine.It has a bit of a rough surface, matches the case. I did not want the pumps or rads to show, so what i did was mount one rad at the front of the case and built a bracket above it for the two pumps to sit on. I ran the wires out the front of the case behind the bezel and then under the case. There is not much room in a 21" to hide two pumps and two rads.B) I was thinking of mounting the HDD above the PSU, just not to sure about the heat. mxrider623 Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 Do you still have the 3.5 floppy bay? cause u can put your HDD in the very bottom slot and it works better than the other 3.5 cause it doesn't stick out as far cause there is no fan mount in it. Saca_Saca Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 The two 3.5 are gone,I had to get rid of them to fit the rad + the pumps in the front. here is a pic to give you a better idea.
mxrider623 Posted May 23, 2003 Posted May 23, 2003 Oh ok and is yours the Steel case or the aluminium one? cause that can have a lot to do with painting it cause the steel ones have a bit rougher surface on the inside so you don't even need primer but the aluminium ones are smooth so i might need to primer it first.
