Guest Ph0n33z Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 ALright, I just recieved my 2x512mb Kingston HyperX BH-5 today. Everything else in my sig is still the same, except for the mem of course. I just want to know what you guys recommend as a starting point for these babies. I read a post recently on BH-6, where u said 2-2-2-11 at 3.3v+ should bring 240-250fsb. but I believe that was for 2x256. ANyways, what should I start at as far as vdimm, timings, etc.. Also, have you guys experienced any better results for my setup with certain bioses? Thanks guys for all the help!

Guest Ph0n33z Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004 I read the post u gave and I am going to try the things explained there. HOwever, currently I am running 10x200 2-2-2-11 2.9v. It has been running prime and gone through memtest and sandra without errors, so I am hoping for the best! I do not think I need to "burn them in" as they are used memory to begin with. IS this correct in deducing?
RGone Posted July 23, 2004 Posted July 23, 2004  IS this correct in deducing? Maybe and maybe not. I think mrlobber is trying to get his "used" memory to go faster by burn in/out/up/down. A lot of theory and even pure dis-belief about burn-in and was a skeptic myself at first. But I have seen it work to a degree everytime I take the time to do it correctly. If 200mhz is your goal; then surely you are there and in fine shape as the memory is already overclocked by 34FSB or so. Carry on and have fun. elts_drac Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 I've on burned my CH-5 for about 36 hours which was broken down into a 6 hour, 10 hour, and 20 hour session using memtest86 @242fsb CPC on 11-2-2-2-2-13-15 with the extra seven set to auto and went from XP/Prime stable @ 225 to stable @ 233 afterwards. Unoid Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Well I've had my two sticks of 512mbx2 of KHX 3000 for a while (since this past x-mas) and the burn in for 60hours got me from 195mhz fsb 2-2-2-6 to 230mhz fsb 2-2-2-6 3.3V stable. Burning in my chips certainly helped. I'm trying to confirm my chips are bh-5 atm but it looks like they are, I want more then 230mhz fsb outa them though. 2x512mb isn't the best for higher fsb I know but still they should be getting me more? mongoled Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 On the subject of 'burn in' ive found that my sticks no longer work with voltages they used to. They now need more voltages, lol. I remeber trying a little while back to run at 200mhz with default voltages (was doing some messing abt) now default voltages on my brd are 2.9 vdimm (cos of mod). Well whilst in windows was well unstable I was like 'wtf?!@?!#'. Sure enuff upping the volts to 3.0 solved the problem and i was only at 200mhz . Its like they enjoy the tortue of high volts and dont want 2 go back to the weaker stuff I think my mem is now addicted to high voltages they need the rush to work properly
RGone Posted July 25, 2004 Posted July 25, 2004 they need the rush to work properly now properly voltage addicted should fit rat in wit duh HOsisters as they is shorely addictedd two>overclocking addicted mobos and now mammries. Pretty soon they will all be under arrest. Heheheheheheheehehehehe. Sincerely, RGone...1ster>:shake:
