oskar showed me a pic today of the K8T800 socket754 with Adata TCCD module running @ 350FSB (700Mhz effective)

scored about 5500-ish in unbuffered Sandra...

since i know no one believes me, trying to get Oskar to link me again =/

apparently its a secret mobo that no one else knows about...but har har far be it from me to keep a secret (cuz im mad that no one tells me anything!!!)

 themselves used on the memory stick are the same stuff that Corsair had said they 're-programmed' (??) to do the DDR400 at 2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2,2 but was tested and said not to scale well. It orginally was 'loose' stuff for PC4000. Same samsung chipsets it seems.

Somebody going to have to buy it and see if it will run DDR500, still and hold to 2,2,2,2 because I haven't heard of it running that HI that tight when it is 'patched' to run 2,2,2,2,2 at DDR400. In the orginal config the memory chips are PC4000 alright enough.

Anybody really tried it?

Sincerely, RGone...1ster>

I think, this has been pretty much discussed in various other forums. These Samsung chips do not like high volts and they can run 250fsb 2.5-3-3 timings. OCZ EB would be better, not to speak about BH-5 stuff. Both of these unfortunately off production.

What I'm looking for, is some reviews of the Crucial Ballistix sticks, which also have 2-2-2 at DDR400, but, being that Crucial is a division of Micron, I doubt they would use Samsung chips provided that Micron is one of the largest memory manufacturing companies.

I reallly hope, they could come close to at least the discontinued OCZ EB stuff, that is, do 250fsb 2.5-2-2 with enough voltage. The chance for Crucial to bring back the legendary Crucial PC2100 days.

 EB mess dead in the water already? Boy that did not last long then?

Besides the what you say is now 'dead' EB stuff the only other thing I have seen do pretty good timing wise is the PC4000 Corsair stuff. They touched on all the vaiables and quickly on the Ballistix stuff over yonder and most decided the DDR400 stuff would not hold tight by the time it got back to the DDR500'ish range. So I don't know. Google review + ballistix and see if any shows up. All I know. Hale we soon be gone from NF2 anyway and rockin and rolling the large A64........heheheheheheheehe.

Right!!!

Yeah, that came as a surprise to me recently as well... Micron stopped supplying OCZ with the chips used on EB (that lead me to think, Crucial (<= Micron basically) might be using them on their Ballistix), but no confirmation on that and we will not be able to speculate anything more until some reviews and timings this ram can do at higher fsb start to pop up.

Now the supply of OCZ EB is drying up quickly as well, but I doubt we'll see any aftermarked action like BH-5 because they run especially well also on A64... And this ram is especially pricey.

As I said, no interesting reviews from respectable hardware sites around... (or maybe I didn't search properly? ;) ) and I wouldn't listen to them anyway. Most of the reviews about memory do not touch the very important points to us, DFIers: higher voltages and lower timings simultaneously... moreover, as nForce2 starts showing its ageness, more and more attention in any review is put on A64 platform... and sometimes Intel as well.

Where this leads, we can see in that my personal KHX3000 example, which did at least 245 fsb on Socket754 platform, while being almost unable to run at its rated stock speeds on nForce2...

But I know that at least one guy at xtremesystems.org has ordered Ballistix PC4000 stuff so some user experience should start showing up soon, and that should contain all the relevant information we really only need looking to.
