i have two internal ide133 hd, i was planning to upgrade to a 7200rpm 160gb sata, would i have any hd speed performance, or should i not even waste my money on a 7200rpm and just go for the 10000rpm one that cost twice as much then the 72000rpm

LOL those 10000 rpm drives cost twice as more for like a 1-3 seconds faster loading. Ppl buy them just to have the best of the best in their computer. Look at the benchmarks. I mean if you got the money, then go ahead and get the 10000 rpm, but if you want the best bang for ur buck go for a 7200rpm. "Snap", its like a placebo effect. Its kind of like how ppl say Raid 0 is super fast then when you bechmark it a sec how it actually performs the Raid0 is faster by like 1 or 2 seconds.

LOL - The Raptors really are the best. And you won't have any of the problems you do with the 7200s (like lots of RMAs). The 5 Year warranty helps give you that secure feeling, placebo or not.

Do you NEED them? dunno, would you rather run at 230x11 or 250x10? You can buy cheap memory for HALF the cost of the good stuff, certainly doesn't make the expensive stuff a rip off.

Guess it really depends on pocketbook and what you want the drive for. But, I don't think you'll find many Raptor owners that regret the purchase.
