Angry_Games Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 the "U" washers are what are also known as the white C-ring washer. put the standoff through the backplate, lock them in place with the C-rings, then install like a normal bolt-thru Thermalright

redrooster Posted August 1, 2004 Posted August 1, 2004 iv just fitted an sp97 but i did not fit the plastic see through washers as they were part of the origonal fitting kit , they dont serve any purpose when fitted over tge backplate posts as the heatsink does not make contact with the board except through the neo backplate bolts . one other thing to check is make sure the spring loaded bolt screws into the neo back plate freely as mine were a bit tight and if fitted straight onto plate can give a false felling of being tight, also watch out for the black capasitor near the power plug it is pushed to one side slightly by one of the heat pipes when tightening down the unit. memony Posted August 4, 2004 Posted August 4, 2004 There is a pretty good guide on thermalright's own site that I followed. A doddle to fit, much easier than the clip on Heatsinks and knocked a good 12C off my temps from the stock fan (with a 92mm Zalman running nice slow and quiet ) The only thing to be careful with imho is the capacitor near the atx connector, the sink nearly touches this after install. as for the see through washer, I don't think they are needed, as there is nothing for them to insulate.
