Guest MetalMilitia18 Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 Okay, first of all, this isn't really an overclocking help, this is just to help me get up to 333, the advertised speed of my comp. My entire setup is in my sig. Just a note, I have kingston value ram and my heat sink on my cpu is the retail in box. If anyone can give me the bios that they have or directions on how to get my fsb higher please help. As of now its around 150 x 12.5. Thanks. Sleeper03 Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 Are you sure that your current processor is a 2600+. The reason I ask is cuz i have a 2600+ running @ 2.09 GHZ Stock No overclock. By the clock speed your indicating it sounds like your processor is a 2200+ not a 2600. If your CPU checks out to be ok look at your board and see if thiers any dip switches that lets you go from 133 to 160 fsb. That will give you the 333 you seek. Hope this helps in anyway
Guest MetalMilitia18 Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 Well, I mean, I've gotten to 333 before but I'll be in there for about 5 minute or so and then my comp will restart. And yes, I'm sure its a 2600, i just meant that a 150x12.5 is all I can get stable, I think it might be something with my memory, that's why I'm asking for people to post their complete advanced chipset bios so I can tell what I have wrong. And no, the jumper on my comp is at 333, I've checked that many a time.
Muninn Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 So you can't lower your multiplier and up the FSB, Also, are there any bios Updates? if there are you might look into flashing your bios, it can help Muninn so tired
Kingsfan Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 it shouldn't be the ram, because it would run at the same speed as your CPU, to find the BIOS you're looking for go to the asus website, they most likely have a solution for you, and as for the retail heatsink fan, you might as well toss it and get something better, they're all trash, i hear they package the same fan in the 1700s as they do the 2600s, that can't be right
battery Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 call tech support if the bios update doesn't work. and if tech can't help you the call whoever you boght it from and ask for it to be replaced
Muninn Posted May 21, 2003 Posted May 21, 2003 You know, I've been hearing alot of posts like this about the 2600+ i don't know if it has anything to do with the processor, but there was a guy posting a simular problem a couple weeks ago, Search back through the posts and you'll find it, and maybe it will be a little more help.
