cant get dual channel :'(

Recommended Posts

Ive tried everything

LanParty875B

2.8 P4 Prescott

2 sticks of PC3200 DDR400

i tried 1 stick in slot 1 and 1 in slot 3

2-4 2-3 3-4 all the combos

I'm new to Intel Boards, been using AMD forever, figured i would give it a shot.

i have used this ram in dual channel mode on my Asus A7N8X mobo.

i flashed the bios to the latest version about 10 minutes ago, i cant find a solution, does anyone have any ideas?

when i boot it says MEM FREQ 400mhz

and says

Single Channel Dynamic Mode & Performance Acceleration tech. enable

i also reset the CMOS and set everything to default in the bios.

any help would be great.

see the RAM slots? your sticks go in same-colored slots to get Dual Channel.

like a stick each in the orange slots, or a stick each in the yellow slots...dont mix colors lol.

if you done this already and still no worky, take a look at my 875B bios screens:

if still no success, let me know. would more than likely be a bad board (rare for the Intel boards, but not wholly uncommon in motherboards as a whole)

Ive also tried to put it on manual and set it the same as yours.

i disabled the other options and renabled them tested many setting, i juts cant get it to go.

yes i have been using the same color slots right now I'm using 2 orange slots slot 1 and slot 3

i still reads 1 gig of ram. could one of my sticks not be compatible with the mobo?

1 stick is infineon DDR-SDRAM PC3200

2 stick is Corsiar DDR-SDRAM PC3200

according to CPU-z

thx for the help :)

i still reads 1 gig of ram.

er...these are 512MB sticks or 1GB sticks?

and its still not showing dual channel? Im not a fan of anything Infineon at all...but that shouldnt stop it from being Dual Channel if it is in the right slots =/

ps: check the size limits on your sig via the Rules in my sig. Dont mean to be a nazi about it but rules iz rules =/

anyway let me know whats up with the board, and if we have to we'll swap it out and see if that cures it. If you know someone that has a matched pair of DIMMs then try those also.

with my Asus A7N8X-X and AMD 2700 i get a score of 4219 on 3dmark03

with the LanParty and P4 2.8 Prescott i get 3850, i thought i would have gone up, everything else in my pc is the same

nitro im at a loss as to what this could be. You got a couple of choices though...

1. you can hang on and let me ask TW if they have ever seen this before...they might or might not have...

2. immediately RMA the board back to your vendor and get a replacement as that will either vindicate or eliminate the board.

if you go for #1, just pm or email me the exact system specs you have, especially important is the motherboard revision and bios verions
