Prostock62 Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 Hi iam a new owner of a DFI NF11-B and have a bad problem, hope someone can help.Iam also new in this forum,i recived my new board yesterday and never got the chance to run it because when installing a SP97 the screw studs head bottomed out on one of them little flat square chips next to the socket.I was told that with a mod to the backplate it will fit fine so i did i filed the conner so the motherboard screw will go threw it fit on fine bit i didnt realize that them chips were that close.Iam not sure if i got a bad board but there is no way for the screw to clear them, the chip is butt even against 2 of them.Is this how they all are? They have that neo backplate so the plate will fit the back but what about them screws? does the new back plate have diffrent studs to moddify this problem? Will someone please help me with this? Sorry guys one more question i have the board that is made from china in the front it has white paint and the china sticker on back,is some boards bad and some good? Thanks. mbguy Posted July 8, 2004 Posted July 8, 2004 the posts screw into the standard plate with the mobo sandwiched in between..... the neo-plate posts are round and are mounted (via mounting clips) directly to the neo-plate....not the mobo. the neo-plate is then pressed against the back of the mobo and the posts simply slide through the mobo holes. You then mount the heat sink to the posts/neo-plate with spring loaded screws. the spring loaded screws actually hold the entire assembly in place. i would post a picture of the neo-plate but for some reason it will not attach???
