gonna overclock, suggestions?

i got an amd athlon 3000+ with a 400mhz fsb and for a mainboard i got dfi nfii lanparty ultra b rev.a+

 

i am gettin some xms ram, it'll be fast not sure EXACTLY what i am gettin

 

i kno some retard than says intel is better for gaming and for overclocking, i litterally started laughing so hard i fell down, he got pissed, lol

couple things...first, post in teh appropriate section (this is Intel overclocking not AMD).

 

second...yer friend is right, the Intel P4 will overclock much better than any AMD will, and it is better for gaming as it has a much higher memory bandwidth and its FPU is equal to that of the Athlon. And the fact that it has a higher clock frequency...and that games, while most support 3D Now! still run better with SSE2 Intel instructions.

 

800FSB + Hyperthreading = better than 400FSB and no hyperthreading.

I think with AMD, PC3500 is fine.....

 

when you get the gear, post back and we can try to help....
