LED's on while comnputer is running?

Recommended Posts

Hey all, I just put my computer together, and it boots up into windows fine (XP SP1). The problem is that while it is on, all 4 LED's are staying lit up. I was just wondering if anyone could confirm this was normal. Thanks.

EDIT: forgot which NIC is which.. NV is top one?

 Yes, if you would look in the manual at the check chart for the LED's you would notice the chart shows all 4 LEDS on when running is the code.

Sometimes it really makes me wonder? Oh well, good luck!

Sincerely, RGone...

Ok, thanks, I was just freaking out because my last one had the 4LED's of death, so I was just panicking a little. My fault for not looking.

you had no boot with that valleyofthe4ledsofdeath. That is the HUGE@ss difference. Hehehehehehehe. Fact I had my own walkthruthevalleyofthe4ledsofdeath myself this weekend and had to get her going again. Amen Bios savior and or spare bios chip and on the DFI-619 which I had found to be nearly indestructable> but you or I put some silly settings in the bios and it will kill even the DFI-619; of that I know the truth now.

Hehehehehehehehe. :D

So you saved a board that had 4LED's of death? My last one (the second LP I had) had them as soon as I hit the Power switch, so I hadn't even had time to mess with the bios. Maybe if I had another bios chip laying around, I coulda popped it in and it would have worked?

I just started OC'ing this bad boy, hoping to get to what I had or even higher. I will definitely order a spare chip incase my bios craps out on me.

BTW, it's the 11/27 bios again, so it must not be a recent motherboard. I say this because some other member here got one with a more recent bios.

Oh yeah, that is right... whats the news on that 6-something being made official?

Silly settings??? hehehe... wanna know

Uh hum, you know like 202x14 on my processor that will only do 2740 on air. Hehehehehe. It was quite "silly"; well very silly of me to even put those settings into the bios and then just KEEP on trying to make it boot. Hehehehehe. Sounds a lot like ye ole 'user' error to me. Hehehehehehehe. :shake:

I knew it would not boot. Never had. But I just kept banging on it and changing timings and the volts were already maxed and that was not enough for me. Hehehehe. Just kept trying to force the 'silly' settings to boot. Reset; turn off/turn on and the like until it said to me ok user error here we go a little tour thru the valleyofthe4ledsofdeath. HEhehehehe. Boing and now we have it so fubared it won't even boot off the bios savior. Done that 7 times on the UI but never with the benefit of the 4LEDS shining so brightly and purty fer all the world to see. Hehehehehe. Used the same 10 hour CMOS clear with the aid of the bios savior to get her going again.

Now I know fer shore, that if I put some very silly and un-realistic settings into 'even' the DFI-619 bios that it too will die. I just a keeler me guess. Hehehehehehe. :D

But fer shore me is RGone...1ster:cool:
